Josh Boatman

Senior Consultant

Josh is a Senior Consultant, primarily working on electro acoustics, room modelling and room acoustics across a broad range of projects. Since joining Vanguardia, he has become the go-to for EASE simulating software. 

He is passionate about putting together manufacturer preparation packages, build models and design systems and the verification of these models. He supports his peers and juniors and works closely with companies to support their research and development in software and hardware. He has co-authored papers on electro acoustic design, computer modelling and speech intelligibility.

Josh qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control at Colchester Institute followed by a Master of Science in Applied Acoustics from The University of Derby after a career as a special needs teacher. 

Before joining Vanguardia, Josh worked at a consultancy on prominent projects including Mecca and the Holy Mosque. A large acoustic job with a huge budget where technology was pushed to the absolute limit. He has since worked on a range of arena, stadia, heritage and airport projects.

Outside of work, Josh is a keen craftsman enjoying woodwork and metal work, designing and fabricating everything from loudspeakers to furniture.
