Vanguardia Win DEFRA Research Project on Entertainment Noise

9th November 2009

Vanguardis has just been awarded the Defra research contract (NANR 297) for a review of environmental noise at concerts. This contract dovetails with a social survey being conducted by Defra to assess attitudes to environmental noise from concerts. The research is required given the growing demand for concerts in the UK coupled with the change in the Licensing regime such that there is a need to establish a robust relationship between noise and community disturbance from varied types of music events. The advice will inform the revision of the Noise Council’s code of practice on environmental noise control at concerts.
