Vanguardia welcome Tony Price on to their environmental team
Tony has worked in the lighting industry for nearly forty years, mostly in consultancy. He specializes in exterior lighting and is particularly experienced in Environmental Impact Assessment. He has worked on many types and scale of project from outline planning stage through to technical advice and design. He has frequently been called upon as an expert witness and has appeared at several public inquiries.
Tony’s thorough understanding and knowledge of lighting principles and techniques has enabled him to make significant contributions to Highways Agency lighting standards and policy and British Standards. He is currently chair of the BSI committee on road tunnel lighting. Tony has provided advice and EIA input for sports, industrial, commercial and residential developments on all scales including the 2012 Olympics Planning Application. He has also provided expert witness at public inquiries including a nationally important inquiry into a proposed new container terminal at Dibden Bay, Southampton. Tony has also conducted specialist lighting studies and advice for the Highways Agency including road lighting and accidents, energy consumption, environmental impact and carbon footprint, new lighting techniques, solar power, and road tunnel lighting.
Since Vanguardia was formed in 2006, by some of the UK’s most experienced acoustic consultants and engineers, they have grown substantially: specialising in areas which include environmental noise and vibration, noise impact assessment, building acoustics, air quality and the effects of noise on human health.
