RSA Launch Event

28th September 2012

The RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) last night launched its newly refurbished historic house with a party featuring live multi-media content from Vanguardia.

The makeover of the 18th century building, which is located behind The Strand in London, aimed to enhance the appearance of the original features, while incorporating latest technology and facilities.

As part of the £3m refurbishment, the building infrastructure has been radically improved. This allows each event space to be easily customizable depending on the client’s requirements. Audio feeds are now provided in all rooms, with a multi-channel 7.1 system installed in the Benjamin Franklin Room and The Great Room. The Great Room is also equipped with a Full HD projector.

Innovative technology provided by Vanguardia allows any events to be streamed directly on the internet in HD, which will allow real-time links to be created with audiences in the UK and internationally.

Other enhancements include a bespoke interactive screen in the foyer running Vanguardia’s in-house Mediaview software. This software allows the screen to be customized to suit any event. Attendees can be checked in; events promoted; interactive maps displayed; multiple live web feeds can be streamed; and events can be relayed from other parts of the building.

Attendees were first given a demonstration of the ‘sign-in’ capabilities of the interactive screen in the foyer, followed by a cocktail in the Benjamin Franklin Room. A demonstration of the new audio visual capabilities was given by Mark Murphy and Dave Yates of Vanguardia in The Great Room, with the evening culminating with live jazz down in the Vaults.
