Walk the Walk Moonwalk 2013
Battersea, 11th May

The 2013 Moonwalk, held for first time at the Battersea Power Station site, provided a fitting start to another busy Summer for VC's Noise Management team. 17,000 participants took part in the event, in aid of Breast Cancer, by either walking a full or half marathon distance through London's moonlit streets. Nina Barough MBE, the event's organiser, told VC that she expected this event alone to raise £6 million.

An extremely large, very pink marquee was erected on site, where participants, ate, danced and warmed up in giant aerobics sessions prior to leaving the site in six groups from 10pm until 12.30am, with the first half marathon entrants arriving back on site at 2am. With residential properties close to site and the event running all through the night, noise management was of particular importance - to ensure entrants could hear important information, and that residents were able to get a good night's sleep.
