Brooklyn Bowl London
London, UK

Client: Brooklyn Bowl

Vanguardia has provided the design and engineering of the complete production sound, lighting and video systems to Brooklyn Bowl London.

Brooklyn bowl is a 800 capacity live music venue, incorporating 12 bowling lanes, restaurant and bars. The venue design has been inspired by the original Brooklyn Bowl venue in New York and includes many similar features and the same warehouse feel.

The production systems include;

  • Lighting based around Grand MA 2 Lite console with Chauvet, ETC and Martin fixtures
  • Sound based around Avid Profile and SC48 consoles, d&b Audiotechnik V series, J-Sub and M6
  • Video based around AMX matrix, Roland V-800HD, Christie HD14K, Panasonic PT-DW870ELK, NEC screens and Sony BRCZ700 cameras.

Vanguardia has provided the concept design and 3D visualisation of the system options to the design team and client through the design process. This was followed by the detailed specification, tender actions, technical assurance and commissioning of the system with the main contractor and integrator.

The design was developed with Brooklyn Bowl in order to encapsulate the feel, atmosphere and production quality of their Brooklyn venue, whilst integrating with the architecture of the London venue.

An added requirement of the London venue was for connectivity with the adjacent O2 Arena. This has been provide over a direct fibre link which allows the live streaming of events from the arena to Brookly Bowl in full HD quality.

Vanguardia worked with Barr Gazettas architects, Momentum structural engineers and ME Engineers electrical engineers to complete the design for the project.

The venue opened on the 16th January with the Brooklyn Nets Basketball game - being played in the O2 arena - shown on the main screen in Brooklyn Bowl. The Brooklyn Bowl All-Star Players also provided exceptional live entertainment with their 8 piece funk outfit drawn from Anitbalas, Lettuce and Soulive.
